The purpose of this survey is to gather input from Advisory Boards related to the upcoming 2024/5 long-range planning efforts to chart a path for the future of the Parks, Recreation, Open Space, Golf and Trails within the City of Louisville.
Staff are in the process of developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to hire an external consultant for assistance in updating the Department’s last ‘master plan’ adopted in 2012. Board member input is desired regarding the new plan’s scope, areas of focus, public engagement process, consultant expertise and other considerations as we look to most effectively allocate resources towards a new plan which identifies the amenities and services the community desires. Please note that the funding for this plan is currently included in the 2024 city budget but is still tentative pending City Council Adoption in November.
The results of this survey and relevant next steps will be shared at Advisory Board meetings towards the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024.
