Is your property wildfire ready? We want to see what you've done to protect your home against wildfires! Join our Wildfire Ready Giveaway to show off what you've done for wildfire mitigation and be entered to win a prize!
Wildfire mitigation actions are on-the-ground actions taken to reduce the chance of a wildfire causing damage. We encourage you to be prepared by learning about wildfire mitigation practices, such as creating defensible space around homes, developing emergency plans, and signing up for emergency alerts.
Giveaway Details
Accepting entries: September 24 - November 1, 2024
Winner chosen: Once you've submitted, you will be entered into a random drawing to win a preparedness basket.
Giveaway items - the randomly selected winner will be given a preparedness basket that includes (but is not limited to): an Amazon gift card, reusable pet bowl, seatbelt cutter, smoke alarm, solar-powered battery pack, and more!
Who can enter: Anyone in the City of Louisville or the Louisville Fire Protection District
How to Enter
Follow these steps to enter the giveaway!
Take before and after photos of wildfire mitigation actions you have taken around your home.
Examples of mitigation actions:
Raking leaves & cleaning gutters
Remove any items/weeds under the deck
Removal of juniper trees
Installing screens and vents
Replacing part or all of your fences (fences are fuses)
First 5 feet replacement/installation
Attended a mitigation educational event in Boulder County
Participated in a private property home assessment
Submit your photos and info using the form below. If you don't have a "before" photo, that's okay!
Once you have submitted, you will receive an email confirmation and be entered into the free giveaway.
Contest Rules
One submission per household
You must provide your email address to be entered into the giveaway (email addresses will not be shared or added to any other City email lists)
Mitigation action must be taken on the property on which you reside
Deadline to submit: November 1 at 12 p.m.
Giveaway drawing: November 6 at 3 p.m.
Photo Release: By submitting your photos, you are consenting and authorizing the City of Louisville to use your photos for publicity in our communications, on our website(s) or social media channels, and any other official City of Louisville communications.
