Current Status and Upcoming Events:
The Downtown Vision Plan was approved by City Council on November 19, 2024.
In Fall 2023, the City of Louisville engaged a team of planning and design consultants to create a downtown vision plan for the City. The intent of the project is to provide a vision for downtown revitalization and related concept-level designs for the plan that will focus on Main Street, Front Street, Steinbaugh Pavilion, and areas around the South Street Underpass. The goal is to enhance public spaces such as plazas, patios, streets, landscaping, public art, and street amenities. Additionally, we aim to bolster wayfinding by developing a unique downtown district identity through signage and enhancing transit and mobility for the safety and convenience of everyone who visits our downtown area. The design efforts to visualize the future of downtown Louisville are nearly complete, and we look forward to carrying out the community's vision.
