Design & Construction Standards Update
The City of Louisville is seeking feedback on updates to our Design & Construction Standards. This is the first update to these standards since 1994.
The updated document introduces new sections and expands or revises several existing sections to better address multimodal transportation, sustainability, water conservation, and modern engineering practices.
Please review these documents before submitting feedback (also located under the Documents widget):
- MEMO - Overview of Changes to Design and Construction Standards: This document provides a summarized list of the proposed changes and existing standards.
- NEW - 2025 Louisville Design & Construction Standards: This document is a draft version of the new standards.
- OLD - 1994 Louisville Design & Construction Standards: Link to the existing Louisville Design & Construction Standards.
There are three ways you can provide feedback and suggest edits:

- Use the "Share your thoughts" tool below to describe your suggestions or recommendations.
- Email our City Engineer directly to with your comments at CFowlkes@LouisvilleCO.gov.
The City is accepting feedback until June 13 at 5 p.m.
We appreciate your feedback! Your suggestions and recommendations for edits will be reviewed by city staff to determine if they are feasible, reasonable, and don't conflict with other standards. Input will be summarized and presented to City Council when the standards are proposed for adoption in late 2025.
