Community Decarbonization Plan

The City of Louisville is excited to work with stakeholders in the community to create a vision and plan for our energy future. We hope to build a plan that includes the collective perspectives of Louisville business owners and/or business representatives, Louisville residents and/or community group members, topic experts, and members of historically underrepresented groups. We want this plan to be developed by everyone so that we are sensitive to the varied needs and hopes of our community. This plan will guide key decisions and have real-world impact on the City of Louisville's decarbonization vision, strategies, and goals.

The primary deliverable of this planning process is a roadmap to help Louisville achieve its 2030 climate goals through the decarbonization of buildings, transportation (via electrification), and energy supply. This plan will include:

1. A summary of baseline conditions, to inform the decarbonization roadmap
2. An aspirational vision that reflects the community’s collective decarbonization priorities.
3. Measurable decarbonization goals that build upon Louisville’s Climate Action Goals Dashboard.
4. Strategic approach to achieving Louisville’s goals.
5. Measurable targets to evaluate strategy implementation progress.
