Playground improvements are planned for 2026 at both Memory Square Park and the Recreation & Senior Center — and we need your input.

Consultants have submitted three design concepts for each location, and the community is invited to review the designs and vote for their favorite.

You can provide your feedback by:

1. Taking the online survey below

2. Attending a drop-in event on Wednesday, March 4

  • 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Recreation & Senior Center (900 W Via Appia Way)
  • 3 - 4:30 p.m. at Memory Square Park (801 Grant Ave)

All voting closes on March 8, 2026.

Construction is currently anticipated to begin in late summer at the Recreation & Senior Center, followed by Memory Square Park in the fall. For questions please contact Bweber@LouisvilleCo.gov

About the Project

Louisville maintains 37 parks and 16 playgrounds, many built 20–25 years ago. Since 2018, the City has been modernizing aging playgrounds to improve safety, accessibility, and ADA compliance. Renovations have been completed at Heritage Park (2018); Keith Helart and Elephant Park (2020); Cottonwood Park (2021); Joe Carnival and Meadows Park (2024); and Enclave (2025). Additional improvements are planned in the coming years, pending City Council approval and available funding.
